Activity report Family resource centre / Family ministries Swiss Romande 2003

Overview:

10,000 FRC French brochures distributed in Switzerland, numerous interventions in churches on the issue of family, several occasions to represent the ministry using the FRC stand in different gatherings. The FRC received CHF 20,000 during 2003 to cover the start up costs. The FRC/FM in Swiss Romande includes 3 YWAM couples and some 35 part time volunteers (courses, camp staff, translation, admin etc.).

January:

Translation of video materials for The Marriage Course. A team of 15 people contribute to this project. (This has been an excellent collaborative project with the Alpha Swiss Romande YWAM office).

March:

Completion of the French translation of The Marriage Course and launch of the first course in French. 30 participants, 8 staff and 12 visitors.

June:

George & Shelly Counts lead the Family Ministry School in Togo (until end of August).

1 Married for life teaching couple trained by the Counts.

1 Married for life course run. 8 participants.

July:

Shirley Jones teaches 2 weeks in the FMS Togo.

Family camp led by Roy & Shirley Jones. 70 participants.

August:

Training seminar for those wishing to use various tools. (FOCCUS, reFOCCUS, The Marriage Course, PASSPORT personality materials for couple evaluation, PREP, introduction to materials for marriage preparation and Married for life. 8 participants.

In Touch camp led by Roy & Shirley Jones.  50 participants.

September:

Six courses of The Marriage Course in French (Elle et Lui) are launched.  Lausanne, Oron, Moudon, Nyon, Geneva, Paris. 120 participants, 28 staff and as 20 visitors.

Publication of the FOCCUS material in French.

November:

Marriage prep material from HTB (UK) translation is completed.

Theophostic materials for the basic training course completed in French (seminar Feb. 2004).

Translation of the REW-1 (Hamilton) completed.

Kings Kids ministry run a school for parents (6 Saturdays over 6 months) and a training weekend with Dale Kauffman for those working with families in churches. Paul interviews Dale on the KK work for the Swiss Romande newsletter.

December:

Publication of ReFOCCUS in French.

REW -1 seminar with Doug & Stephanie Horst in French. 30 participants.
