Bron & Colin Cleaver’s background

Bron grew up in Christian family in a small village South of Manchester, and lived there until she was 18 years old. She left home when she was 18 and went to study Law at Cambridge University for three years. At university she joined a local church and got involved in the Christian Union, however, in her final year studying, she decided that life as a lawyer was not for her and so, having finished her law Degree, she went to live in the small country of Albania to work as a missionary. She had planned to live in Albania for 2 years, but in the end lived and worked there for 4 years, and really enjoyed the experience.

At the age of 25, she left Albania and returned to England to study at All Nations Bible College.

She studied theology and culture there for two years, and during that time met her husband Colin. They got married at the end of their two years study in July 1999.

Colin grew up in the small town of Farnham in Surrey, just one hour's drive outside London. He lived there with his Christian family until he was 18, when he went to Bristol University to study Maths and Physics. When he finished his Degree at Bristol University, he went to work in a Christian book shop on the island of Barbados in the Caribbean. He really enjoyed living for a year in the Caribbean where the climate really suited him. Colin then returned to England and got a job working as an Information Technology Consultant in his home town of Farnham, where he stayed for two more years. During that time he decided that he wanted to work overseas long-term as a missionary and so went to Bible College where he met Bron.

In January of the year 2000, Colin & Bron moved to St. Petersburg to join the OM (Operation Mobilisation) team in Russia.  After 7 months of intensive language study they moved to Novosibirsk in Siberia to lead the OM team there.
